Carstensen Crew Takes the Wave

Carstensen Crew Takes the Wave
Valentine’s Day was quite exciting for everyone at Marso. On Saturday, February 14th, Carstensen Homes hosted an event in the Milwaukee Wave Party Box through their marketing partnership with MKE Sports & Entertainment.

During the half time program Carstensen Homes was able to be a part of the action with the “Open the Door” contest. It was very exciting watching two local mascots go head-to-head as they stopped at the “bank” to get the money and “the realtor” to get the key to the door then race to be the first contestant to choose the winning key that unlocked the door.

While at the game Christy and Kristin, from Carstensen Homes, were able to meet Brad Beach, the Wave’s Mascot, and the Brunelli’s, past home builders of Carstensen, cheered from the Party Box!

Keep up the good work Milwaukee Wave—the games sure are a lot of fun!

A Remodel to "Wine" About

A Remodel to 'Wine' About
We were delighted when one of our custom home owners recently asked us to remodel a portion of their lower level for a wet bar and walk in wine cellar.

The wet bar includes custom maple cabinets, verde peacock granite counter tops, and a mosaic backsplash that pair well with the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture inspiration that was used when originally building this home.

The wine cellar that was added is nothing short of a masterpiece, the combination of the raw alder wood and the rustic brown stone tile is sure to make a few jaws drop.

Remodelers Delight

Remodelers Delight
We began construction on this beautiful remodel in the beginning of summer and wrapped up the finishing touches in time to host a fantasy football party! The updates to this home created a warm and cozy inviting atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the crisp fall season that is upon us!

The original flooring in the great room, foyer, kitchen and dinette were replaced with character grade hickory wood floors which brings lightness to each space. In addition, a custom entertainment cabinet was added on the right side of the existing fireplace—perfect for maximizing space. The kitchen was updated with new custom cabinets, granite counter tops and new appliances. The cabinets were designed to complement the existing wood ceiling and add storage and work space a chef could only dream of.

Moving through the home, the lower level was completely refinished. It went from a cold dreary, unfinished basement to a welcoming living space that has endless possibilities for use. We see great potential for hosting a Packer Party this winter!

Garage Addition Completed

Garage Addition Completed
This beautiful garage addition was completed in late August—just in time to start all those fun fall projects around the house. The heated 850 square foot addition included an epoxy sealed concrete garage floor, knotty pine panels on the walls and a drywall ceiling.

And, there is plenty of room for storage in the oak cabinets and walk in closet!

The garage was added as an additional 2-car garage onto our Select Series Model—The Chandler. The addition of the garage was built so well you wouldn’t even know its not already part of the model plan.

Carstensen Homes Logo
Carstensen Homes (formerly The Carstensen Group), a premier custom home builder known for using the highest quality materials and the finest craftsmanship, today announced its new corporate brand and unveiled an updated logo that better represents the firm's relevancy in today's marketplace. In addition, the company launched a newly designed website.

"This is an important, exciting time for Carstensen Homes and our clients," says Greg Marso, owner and CEO of Carstensen Homes. "Our new branding reflects our commitment to building high quality homes at a fair price while using the most up-to-date techniques, materials and designs. We promise to deliver a visionary approach to construction that perfectly fits our customers' lifestyle."

As a part of the new brand, forward-thinking Marso says Carstensen Homes will make its mark on the mid-priced homes market by launching a new line of model homes. Customers can choose from more than a dozen plans, each of which are totally customizable. Building any of these models and adding a customer-centered approach provides peace-of-mind during and after the construction process. "There's a right way to build home and a right way to treat people, and we're doing both," Marso says.

"Our innovations are a response to customer requests," says Mary Horton, director of sales. "We are entering groundbreaking territory. We spent years designing and building custom homes and understand there's not one house that fits everyone. We know what is really important to homeowners. We've realized people asked for certain features over and over so our new group of model home plans include our most in-demand features, plus offer customers the opportunity to make adjustments that fit their lifestyles. Now that's smart and creative."

Cameron Model Rendering
Carstensen Homes, a Marso Company, has announced it will build a new model home – Cameron – in time for the August 2013 Parade of Homes.

Though Parade sites have not yet been announced by the Metropolitan Builders Association, the Waukesha, Wis.-based nonprofit trade association that coordinates the Parade, Carstensen has committed to building its first parade model since 2006, a 2,200 square-foot ranch that features the latest interior and exterior decorating trends, new and sustainable building techniques, and leading-edge home technologies.

The 2013 Parade of Homes is expected to showcase more than 10 homes from southeastern Wisconsin's most experienced homebuilders.

The Carstensen model is an example of what the builder can do in addition to the custom homes it has been building for the past 30 years.

"We are excited to once again be part of the Parade of Homes, says company CEO Gregory Marso. It's a great way to connect with families who are interested in building a new home or looking for remodeling ideas for their current home. We can't wait to talk to parade-goers about our new model and how it can fit their family's lifestyle."
